Shooting with animals is always fun because of the challenges they add to the mix. At the beginning of the year I got to shoot with not one, but two horses and a new model Sophia. We shot with the sun at it’s highest harshest point, because we’re breaking all the rules, and ran with it. Being the first time I had ever worked with horses, I really wasn’t 100% sure what I got myself into. Having a plan but no real scope of how it would turn out really helped the creativity come alive. It turned into a collab shoot with another local photographer as well, Choice Visuals. Sophia is brand new to the game and is so open to creative ideas. She’s somebody that just likes to learn as much as she can - which is the best. I definitely want to work with more animals in different settings because that’s so far out of my lane. This year is all about switching things up.
